Don't get me wrong and don't hate me for what I'm about to write
By Alina Melinda
So I think I'm one of the very few people who can't really wrap her head around why people are nuts over this book. Don't get me wrong and don't hate me for what I'm about to write. I'm not saying that it's a bad book or anything. It was ok. The writing was great I just didn't liked the plot and couldn't connect with the characters.Maybe it's just not my cup of tea . Don't take my words for it just read it and maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.
If you're not a very patient reader (like me) and you don't like reading 70% of the book just to discover that nothing exciting really happens, then more than probably this book is not for you. I was about to give up on it 4 times but I pushed myself because many people recommended it to me. I was thinking that if it has so many 5 stars ratings and good reviews ,then it must be something good. I waited for ....something 'wow' to happen ! Maybe I'm just blind and I'm missing the point of the book.
Don't even get me started on the characters and on Alexandria's annoying switch between her three personas. I just...umm...sorry.Not for me.

Maybe My Expectations Were Too High.....
By S.A.S.
I expected to love this book. I loved the first 3 books in the "Consequences" series. I saw all the 4 and 5 star reviews for this new release, so I promptly purchased this first installment in a 5 book series. I get that this first book is a set up for the future books, but I was bored to tears. For me this book just dragged. I kept waiting for something of interest to happen when all I got was inner monologue and endless descriptions of this and that....yet, still, nothing of interest happened. Maybe for others this was an except-able build up to the story, but it just failed to keep my interest. Alex/Charli(h) is a 23 year old graduate of Stanford. She has been excepted to Columbia Law School. That makes me assume she is one pretty clever/smart young lady. I was mistaken. Here are my issues....Possible Spoilers Ahead!!!! Read At Your Own Risk!!!!!
Story/Plot....dragged, boring, predictable, and full of cliches. I saw the ending coming a mile away.
Characters......predictable and cliched....over-the top evil Stepdad, weak Mother who does nothing to defend daughter from evil Stepdad, same BFF as any other novel with all the same conversations, token gorgeous gay male friend (cousin). Maybe the next installments will give more light and depth to these characters, but I did not feel it in this installment. Did I mention that every character is beautiful or extremely attractive? Well...surprise, surprise....they were/are.
Contrived, and quite unbelievable, plot twist(s) which forces the female protagonist to be at the mercy of the H in every way. Thank god he's gorgeous, rich, and a god in the sack.
Here's my main issue. The main character Alex/Charli(h) is supposed to be headed to Columbia Law School. Alex comes from a very wealthy Georgian family. She has a trust fund. She has used that trust fund to pay for her education. Evil stepdad informs her that she will not go to school at Columbia. No, she will stay in Georgia and marry because she must carry on the bloodline. What is this, the 1950's? Furthermore, her trust fund has been highjacked, or confiscated, so therefore she no longer has any funds. She is at the mercy of her stepdad and must do as she is told. Well, I had an issue with that. Why didn't the clever Stanford grad student and soon to be Columbia Law student challenge the confiscation of a trust fund she has had for years. There were millions in that fund. Why take her stepdad's word for why the trust fund was taken away from her? She hates and mistrusts that man. No, she just simply excepts the theft of her trust fund. Hmm...Maybe she should have hired a....um...what do you call them? Oh! Yeah! A lawyer! Yeah. Maybe this clever girl, who wants to be a lawyer, should have gotten herself one in order to challenge her evil stepdad. Ugh!
My other issue? I will try not to give too much away here. I will just say that it is illegal for any contract to be legally binding if said contract states that one person is owned by another. A smart girl on her way to graduate school at Columbia Law should, and would, know this. Another ugh!
This is a well written book. I just did not find it to be very original. So far, this story/plot has been done to death numerous times. Maybe as the story progresses I will feel more for both the characters and the plot line. Again, so far, I was just aggravated and bored. I cannot recommend or not recommend. This is the first book in a five book series. This is why I rated this book a 3 star rather than a 2 star. I have no idea where this series will go and I realize this book is a kind of intro to the future books and plot. I can say that this first installment did not pull me in. I do not feel compelled to read the next installment. Based on all the other 4 and 5 star reviews, I am the odd person out, so go ahead and give this first installment a shot. Just don't say I didn't warn ya.

So what does Infidelity mean? it says if you cheat on yourself is it cheating? Wow, so not what I had in mind! Finer than Wine!!
By Susie
Welp we have all be Aleathed Again! Its a great start to an exciting series! Now I'm usually one that does not like to read a book that is part of a series until I have all the books and can dive in and read them all together. (yep I do buy books and let them just set right on my Kindle shelf waiting for the entire series) I do get the series thing though, I know a lot of people do not really like it they just want the books to be written released and done but that's not the way it is done today folks some of these books would be sooo long if they did it in one setting and I also believe it allows the writer time to reflect with the storyline and the characters and make changes as they continue with the series and we get a much better series of books! I truly believe in the standalone books just as I do the series they are all good and have reasons to be what they are! And being that this is queen bee Aleatha Romig of the "Consequence Series" that I truly Adored and LOVED so much I dove right in and read it soon after I one clicked it after learning it was released a day early, I figured that was a sign to get it and read it and I am so glad I did! Now do I wish I had books 2,3,4 and 5 absolutely but hey this is real life and these are fictional characters and I know she will not let us down with what she decides to give us with this Infidelity Series!
So you have read the Burb written and its a good one Im try not to spoil much but just give what and why i loved the book!
I love Alex/Charli, Alexandria I feel sorry for and I hope she can come out of her shell and be just that "Alexandria or Alex for short" but for now with all these secrets she has having Charli in her corner I think is a very good thing! Oh Nox I surely do love him he is hot and sweet and attentive and was totally taken by Charli but by the end of this book the rules have been changed and I know sweet endearing Nox is about to be super Dominate Nox and I think I will love that Nox just as well and maybe even better! I enjoyed the back and forth in time (its just a few months but also has flashbacks to her younger days even with her deceased father) but it gave this book a different depth to it and helped me as a reader to quickly get to know all the characters in a smooth flowing way! Alexandria/Alex is from an uber rich family and was allowed to go away for college to see the world leaving behind her family and some terrible friends and an old boyfriend that truly was never a boyfriend but a boy that wasnt really a good friend either as it seems and he has just put himself right in the midst of her family under her nose he is in deep and we dont know why...she left so she didn't have to be told how to live, dress, eat, wear her hair, go to bed, sit straight you get the drift huh? So off to College she went and never looked back, she makes a wonderful best friend with Chelsea and after the four years of college they decide take a week off, a last little trip together as Alex is moving to New York and Chelsea is staying in California to find a job she didn't come from money but she has been a little spoiled by Alex but seems to be a true and dear friend and gets Alex to come out from under the strangling influence of her family which is really only her mother and a stepfather whom she hates and at the end of the book I don't care for either of them her mom is drinking herself into submission to a very very bad man that has taken control of her life and money and has also been in charge of Alexandria in what ways Im not sure. We do not know the complete extent to what all this man has done to her but what little we do know it is not good! But when these two get on this vacation Chelsea is telling Alex she has worked as hard as she could and it's her time to unwind and let go she deserves it before she has to jump into law school, she is going to Columbia she wants her to enjoy life pretend she is someone else be free be like her Chelsea the wild child of the two of them and Alex decides it's a good idea and she is going to become Charli (short for Charles, yes her dads name is one in a long list of of her legal names) for the week and out by the pool she meets Nox a very good looking man that she has a connection with right away, next thing ya know it's a dinner and rules are set and hard limits are asked of course Charli doesn't even know exactly what this means but they decide no questions about each other they are just Charli and Nox and they are only going to have this one week together and walk away and boy do they have a HOT week together but is it just a week together heck no both of them have emotions riding high but they choose not to speak them and to walk away! Aleatha this is some of your hottest sexiest writing scenes yet that car and bathroom scene is HOT as is the sexy bathtub scene! It's a wonderful blissful week and Charli doesn't want it to end but it does and they go off to live their lives but Nox tells her on the last day that he did break one rule but she doesn't know what that rule is until on the plane going back to California and Chelsea figures it out and we do not realize how great it is that he breaks this rule until the very last page of the book. Alex has been summoned home and has all of the sudden been given ultimatums by her family, she runs and then makes a decision that's going to change her entire life I never saw it coming not at all, it truly surprised the crapola out of me but it's going to be really GREAT especially when Nox finds out what she has done after 6 weeks of not even a word from her and he cannot stop thinking of her he wants her and yet he cannot have her then he learns a BIG secret and he is mad as fire and now the rules have changed just how they have changed well we have to wait until January 19, 2016 to find out!
If you haven't read any of Aleatha Romig's other books you've got to try them The Consequence Series is her very first to be published but you would never know that, it's a dark read but a beautiful cannot put it down till you are done series and then she has Tales from the Dark Side "Insidious" it's a wonderful book, a standalone and it will keep your head spinning from the tale that is weaved and told! I however cannot wait to read the next Book "Cunning" in this Infidelity Series! Get to it Aleatha we are desperately waiting for more Charli or will it be Alex and as for Nox as in Lennox Demetri, its Mr Demetri! :)
