The Batman I grew up with!

I purchased this book in the now defunct G.Fox Department Store back in 1975. If you can obtain this book for a reasonable price, grab it as fast as you can if you are a comic book fan. It has a great over view of stories from the 30's to the 70's. There is a small color section because the entire book is almost all black and white comics. However, this was published in a time where hard covers of comic collections were rare. Back in 1975, book stores didn't have sections dedicated to comics and graphic novels. It was very rare if you saw any hard cover collections of super hero comics back then. Now they are common place and you can download them on Amazon.com. I don't know why the publisher gave us five or ten pages of color and gave us the remaining pages in black in white. The only other thing I could think of that prohibited from making the entire book in color is cost. Perhaps the publisher couldn't economically publish this 300 plus pages of story at a reasonable price.
But I digress, on to the stories. I was really impressed with the fact that Neil Adams and Denny O' Neil's version of Batman was represented here. You'll get to see all the old Bob Kane classics that we recently found out were actually written by Bill Finger. Bob Kane just had his name on the credits,when in reality there were many writers and artists that contributed to the Batman legacy without credit. . I just wish there was a Kindle version of this book. I've love to download an edition of this for my computer.

HOLY HARMONY!

BATMAN is my favourite Superhero, as a kid I'd imagine being in The BAT-CAVE, driving down the street in the BATMOBILE, and fighting criminals next to my partner in crime, ROBIN! This is a great book, one I never had the chance to own until NOW! I didn't know that this was a part of a series of volumes, I don't know which one is first, or what is what. But I got THIS volume of BATMAN, and another of SUPERMAN, and the last was a copy of SHAZAM!, the exploits of CAPTAIN MARVEL! Two from BONANZA, (the DC's,) , and the SHAZAM! from HARMONY Books.
